My pillow for Kimberly

I don't think that she sees my blog posts, so I will show you what I made for Kimberly in our butterfly swap.

This pillow was quite a lot of fun to make. I think I'm addicted to Crazy Quilting now. I know that she likes 'redwork' & 'hexagons'. So I put some of that on it.
hexagons & redwork
And I tried some beadwork too!

Now I would like to learn some more fancy stitching. Hope she likes it! I love what she made for me...

Isn't that the cutest teacup pincushion?

I've decided to enter this pillow in a contest that Melissa is having on her blog,Lilac Lane.
Lots of fun prizes to win! To enter you have to post an item that was handmade by yourself that has been trimmed, embellished or bedazzled. I think this qualifies!! :0} Click on her button to see all the other entries.

A couple of the BOMs that I have started

This is my first attempt at trying to do redwork!
I can see where I will be doing more of this. The embroideries are going fairly quick.

These are blocks 1 & 2 of the "Love is" BOM and
blocks 3 & 4 of the "Love Is" Bom.

I have used gold and tan cotton fabrics for the backgrounds on the "Simple Thymes" BOM and wool or wool felt for the appliques. The sheep is a white minky fabric.

I have joined in on a challenge that Denise of KKL Primitives is having. This is what she wrote on her selling blog...

*FREEbie Bunny Pattern - With A Small Hitch

I thought it would be fun to share my bunny pattern with my readers. The 'fun' part is that I am only sharing the bunny template with no directions!! ha ha. You do your own thing to the bunny and then send me a photo of your finished bunny so we can see how many different looks this bunny pattern can have. There are 3 pieces, the upper body, lower body ( tape these together ) and leg and arm templates. Will your bunny be primitive, shabby chic, folkartsy, cutesy?

This was a fun project! She is going to post the results from the others that participated on Feb. 24th. But I would like to show you what I have done with her bunny pattern!
This is Ms. Chocolate Bunny dressed in her finest Easter attire!

I made her out of muslin and then painted her a chocolate brown. She has painted eyes and lt.pink embroidered nose & mouth. Her dress is a pink floral cotton with a Battenburg collar and apron. I've placed a rusty pin holding a lace & rose on her collar and a rusty heart on her apron. She is holding a mini tin bucket that I've grungied up. In the bucket are 3 fabric eggs nestled in some spanish moss.
You can also see the bunny that Denise made if you check out her blog.
